Just heard the sad news that Tom Petty has died. We only saw 1 of his hits chart in SA, ‘Stop Dragging My Heart Around’, which he and his band, The Heartbreakers recorded with Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Stevie Nicks. The song entered the charts on 4 September 1981 and spent 12 weeks in the top 20 peaking at 4.
On other charts in SA, he made number 4 with ‘Jammin’ Me’ on the Radio 5 charts, made number 9 on the Capital 604 charts with ‘You Got Lucky’ and managed to get to 12 with ‘Free Fallin’ and 10 with ‘I Won’t Back Down’ on the 702 Talk Radio charts.
