HARVEST (SA)

Harvest consisted of Sharon Tandy and Dave Ornellas. Ornellas was from the band Hawk (sometimes referred to as Joburg Hawk). They were a one-off project brought together by Billy Forrest to record a cover of the Peters And Lee number 1 hit in the UK, ‘Welcome Home’. The picture sleeve for the single shows a troopie knocking on the door of a house which would have hit a chord with many in South Africa at the time who would ‘welcome home’ conscripts who had some leave or were finishing up their national service. Dave Ornellas would sadly die in 2010 and Sharon Tandy would follow him 5 years later.
