The band formed in Los Angeles in 1966 around Tony Thomas. Thomas was the son of a US television personality called Danny Thomas. The band worked a lot with P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri who had seen success in South Africa as The Fantastic Baggys. The Thomas Group would release a handful of singles in 1966 and 1967 and then it seems they split up or renamed themselves Morning Sun and released at least 1 single under that name. A compilation of their material was released in 2017.
