* This was the all time biggest gap for a song leaving the charts and then re-entering at a later date. There were 218 weeks between the song leaving the charts and re-entering. The second biggest gap was only 28 weeks which The Staccatos’ ‘Cry To Me’ saw. All other gaps were 6 weeks or less. The song also had the highest ever weeks count for a song re-entering the charts (18 weeks). This would be equalled by Rick Astley’s ‘Whenever You Need Somebody’.

The song had the honour of being the number 1 hit on the very first chart. Local artists Gene Rockwell, Charles Jacobie, Barbara Ray and Roy Bulkin have all recorded cover versions of the song. It is not the same song as the hit of the same name that Joe Dolan saw in SA in 1977.
