Although this was her debut single, Foley had been involved in a previous chart topper in the Netherlands as she performed some vocals on Meat Loaf’s ‘Paradise By The Dashboard Light’ which had spent 5 weeks at 1 there about 10 months before ‘We Belong To The Night’ topped the Dutch charts. Ian Hunter, who co-produced the song was from the band Mott The Hoople while his co-producer, Mick Ronson, had been the guitarist with David Bowie particularly in his Ziggy Stardust phase.
