Vannelli came up with the song while driving to see a shaman in Santa Fe. He had recently travelled to Peru and seen Machu Picchu but had also seen the upheaval the country was going through at the time. The trip affected him so much that he decided to seek out the shaman to help him sort out his feelings. While driving he got lost a number of times and the thought that wild horses couldn’t stop him getting to see the shaman would inspire the song. The song would be the 4th highest ranked song by a Canadian act using a top 30 points basis.
