This was a second hit for Branigan which was a cover version of a song by Umberto Tozzi. But unlike her previous one, ‘Gloria’, Tozzi’s version did not make our charts. Tozzi’s version (from 1977) did, however, fare well in Europe topping the charts in France, Greece, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland and would shift over a million copies in both France and Italy. Dianne Warren would provide the English lyrics for Branigan’s version.
