Parker was born in Freeport, New York. After school he would study furniture design at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art where he got a part in the touring production of ‘The Trojan Women’. He would go on to study acting at the Herbert Berghof Studio and would support himself working as a carpenter. He then moved into pornography and starred in a number of gay adult films going under the name Wade Nichols. At some point he would become the boyfriend of record producer Jacques Morali who would be responsible for bringing us The Village People. He would record an album called ‘Fly Like An Eagle’ from which ‘New York By Night’ was taken. The song would chart in South Africa (see below) and Sweden where it went to number 15 but would not see any other chart action that I could find. In 1979 he landed a role in the TV show ‘The Edge Of The Night’, but had to stop working on it in 1985 as he was serious ill. His death in 1985 would be AIDs related.
