Dewayne Blackwell, who wrote the track, was the writer of The Fleetwood’s 1959 hit ‘Mr Blue’ which would top the US charts and was covered by numerous artist (as an aside he also composed a wonderfully entitled track called ‘I’m Gonna Hire A Wino To Decorate Our Home’). A band called The Dove would record ‘the song ‘Toy Train’ in 1971. Edmond’s version would be the 8th highest ranked local song to chart in 1973.
